Dust Collectors & Wet Vacs For Sale

Surface preparation, whether grinding cement floors or preparing a steel substrate, is essential for creating a smooth, clean surface that can then be painted, coated, or polished. However, this process creates heavy dust and residue that’s not only difficult to clean up, it can even be dangerous to breathe in. Whether you’re using simple power tools and need a dust collector or you’re engaging in more intensive surface preparation and require an industrial dust collector to maintain OSHA compliance and a safe workspace, we have a wide variety of equipment to meet your needs.

What Is an Industrial Dust Collector?

More than a simple vacuum, an industrial dust collector is used in conjunction grinding machines and shot blasters.  Because most grinding and blasting devices don’t come attached with a way to easily vacuum or remove dust, a separate unit is required. Whether you need a small collector to pair with a small to medium sized machine or you require an extra large industrial dust collector for large shot blasting machines, they all should include commercial level filters that remove 99 percent or more of airborne dust and particles from the air. Most now use HEPA (high-efficiency particulate air) filters to ensure a more thorough cleaning capability.

Using a Dust Collector for OSHA Compliance

OSHA has multiple standards in place related to hazardous dust exposure, including crystalline silica that is often found in construction materials such as stone, concrete, and mortar. Grinding, polishing, and blasting these materials without using an appropriate dust collector can lead to silicosis, a dangerous and sometimes fatal lung disease. OSHA standard 29 CFR 1926.1153 requires employers take steps to protect workers and limit their exposure to silica dust, and many of our industrial dust collectors do meet this standard.
