If you rely on a shot blaster for industrial cleaning and surface preparation, it’s important to make sure you have spare parts on hand in case something breaks or wears out. While we take pride in only carrying high-quality, durable shot blasters from IMPACTS America, we also understand that parts can break – often at the most inopportune time.
The last thing you want in the middle of a big job is to have to stop for a day or longer while you wait for a replacement part for your shot blaster to come in. That’s why we are sharing the three things you should always have on hand.
Shot Blaster Wheel Kit
The wheel is the “heart” of your shot blaster, turning at high speeds in order to propel the shot out of the hopper and onto the surface. Without a blast wheel, nothing will be working, so you want to keep a blast wheel kit on hand at all times on the off chance something should break down. Also, changing the blast wheel kit out in accordance with manufacturer guidelines is a part of routine maintenance you should do to keep your shot blaster working smoothly, but it’s also a good idea to keep one around in between maintenance, just in case.
Our blast wheel kit is made by IMPACTS and are available for all sizes and models of IMPACTS shot blaster.

Shot Blaster Replacement Cables
When you’re operating a walk-behind shot blaster, you are most likely pulling a trigger that releases the shot. The trigger is attached to a cable which runs inside the blaster, controlling the shot abrasive which is released from the hopper.
While the cables tend to be sturdy, frequent use and wear can cause them to snap, and if that happens mid-job, you’ll need to replace them before you can get started again. That’s why you want to keep shot blaster replacement cables near by – they can be changed out in just a few minutes so you can be back up and working in no time.

Shot Blaster Liners
Shot blaster liners are installed inside a shot blaster to protect the blast housing. Without the liner, the inside of the blaster will quickly become damaged due to the heavy, abrasive activity it’s exposed to. While the liner generally doesn’t break down and require immediate replacement, they do need to be replaced from time to time as part of regular maintenance.
